I am an individual who is moved by the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene. I am utilizing my various interests to spread awareness online. Due to the current fast-paced news cycle and framing of this disaster by the media, I feel that this situation requires community voices. The hurricane was of historical magnitude for this area and will require decades to recover. By the time data can be documented and the damages can be accurately reported people will have gone without resources. It is integral that this is taken seriously before this is looked back upon as a failure by our country.
